Okay It is a new year so i guess its time to do a new post!!

MaKenna on January 22nd was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

So going back to Christmas we thought MaKenna had broken her leg Christmas eve when she was running on the couch and her leg slipped between the cushions. We convinced ourselves that she couldn't of fractured it on the cushions and so we waited and didn't take her to the doctor until 3 days after Christmas. They did X-rays and they splinted it convinced it was a toddler fracture. When we went to her follow up appointment they did another X-ray and nothing showed up. So we left the splint on and a few days after that she started walking.

Patty (Roberts mom) came into town 1 week later and MaKenna ran up to her at the airport and was very excited to see her! later that week they were dancing and MaKenna slipped on one of her sippy cups on the floor and twisted her ankle. She then was not walking again and wouldn't stand up on her legs. Convinced that she was just milking it wanting to be carried and babied. Grandma layed on the couch with her and fed her and just loved her while she was down with her hurt ankle. Because MaKenna "broke" her leg and then hurt her ankle and she was also teething we had been giving her quite a bit of Ibuprofen. So when she started bruising severely we didn't think anything about it because of the amount of meds we had been giving her. So we stoped giving her the medicine and the bruising started to lessen.

That next weekend MaKenna and I got sick. So we both got a cough and just spent the weekend on the couch together and just hung out and rested. Monday Makenna's fever started. She started not having as much color in her face and she started having patiki eye on her face. By Friday morning I just woke up and said to Robert I need to take MaKenna to the doctor right now. So we got up and went.

Patty had hurt her knee so when I decided to take MaKenna to the ER We didn't go to Primary Children's Hospital we went to the IMC Hospital in Murray so they both could be seen. When we got there the nurse saw MaKenna and she was like good thing you brought her in you did the right thing. They hardly see any kids there so they were having a good time with her playing with her and having a good time.

At the hospital I expected to maybe hear them tell me that she was anemic and she needed to get some blood or needed some antibiotics or something. They did some blood tests on her and the doctor came in about an hour later and sat down with me and just told me that she has Leukemia. That I would need to take her up to Primary Children's but that he wanted me to talk to the nurse that had checked us in.......

The nurse came in and talked to me about Leukemia and that her son had just finished up his 3 years worth of treatments. She said as soon as she saw MaKenna she knew what she had because she had just gone though this. The nurse was awesome and she helped answer some questions for me. We both just cried together and she sent us on our way to Primary Children's. Since Robert hadn't come with us we just had him come down and meet us at the hospital before we took her up to Primary Children's.

While I was waiting in the waiting room I called my sister Kim and she told me she would call my sisters and let them know what was going on. Robert got there and we drove over to Primary Children's. On the way there I called my job and quit so when I got over to the other hospital I could apply and qualify for Medicaid since MaKennas insurance would not pay for any treatments here in Utah.

We got up to Primary Children's Hospital and had to go into the ER since the Oncology Hematology unit was full so they had no beds for us yet. After spending 4 hours in the ER they got us up to the room where we would spend the next 5 days. Friday night they gave her 2 blood transfusions and 1 platelet transfusion. Saturday morning they took her into surgery and placed a port in her chest under the skin, a bone marrow aspirate, and a spinal poke to check for Leukemia in the spinal fluid and to also put in preventative Chemo Therapy in the fluid to make sure the Leukemia wouldn't survive in the spinal fluid.......

From there we spent the next few days learning and waiting..... We found out that ALL is treated with about 6-8 months of weekly chemo treatments followed by 2 years of monthly treatments. We had many nurses explaining and referring to MaKennas Leukemia as the "good" kind of Leukemia because they know how to treat it so well and it has about a 89% cure rate. They know how to treat this type of Leukemia down to knowing how aggressive they need to treat by the shape that the cell has changed into. We had found out that the shape of the cell is the Type of Leukemia that needs less invasive treatment but since she has had higher counts of Leukemia in her bone marrow even after several Chemo treatments they will be treating her with a more aggressive type of Chemo therapy.

MaKenna has been on steroids for the past month and has had 4 Chemo treatments. She has stopped talking and it has been about 2 months since she has walked. All of the symptoms are normal for children her age going through this type of therapy. The Steroid has caused her to have a lot of back pain and leg pain. Her Chemo treatment has caused her to have a lot of mussel pain and jaw pain. So we can treat this with pain meds but nothing was really helping. We have spent a lot of days laying on the couch with her and just trying to comfort her. Because of the steroids she has been eating a lot of food. It has made her very hungry!!! She sat down and ate 4 hot dogs in one sitting. We have been caring her around and also waking up in the middle of the night to feed her when she gets hungry. It has been like having a new born again. But things look to get better soon.

She has just finished day 29 of treatments which means she did not have a chemo treatment last Friday and she got to stop the steroids... YAY!!! For the past few days She has been herself again and is sitting up, playing, laughing, talking, and just feeling better. It has been a dramatic change. We have been so blessed to have her in our lives and we are just trying to be optimistic about everything there is to come with this. We know that she will have her good days and bad days but we pray that she has more good ones. We have had so many helpful friends and neighbors who have been there to help us get through this its been amazing. We know that there is a lot more to come in the next 3 years we will for sure try and keep everyone more informed.

Oh sorry everyone that its been a while. I have had several requests for a new post so here it is. A few new things that have been going on with us is...... nothing.

LOL, okay Ummm. MaKenna is getting big as ever she has mastered the word "please" and sometimes even says "thank you". We have been watching our friends dogs for the past week and she is very good at telling them to "GO" and she points her finger to where she wants them to go(to there beds). As cute as it is it does not make me want to get a dog. Well I think we might need to get a new baby gate for the basement. She has figured out how to get around it. Or over it I should say..... She not only can climb over it but she is strong enough to push it until it opens up its wonderful! LOL Other new stuff... Just working and hanging in there.

My Pampered Chef stuff is really starting to take off. When I was in Phoenix I had 2 cooking shows and they were very successful! Thank you to everyone who helped me out. My Family is so wonderful. Speaking of our trip Phoenix we still haven't recovered. We have been sick ever since we got back. MaKenna is just at the end of it and still had a runny nose and a cough.

After we got back a few weeks ago after finally receiving my new drivers license (it takes 3 weeks to get it here in Utah) Robert and I went all the way out to Magna to Cyprus Credit Union. We went all the way out to Magna because we have a friend who works out there and we wanted to her to set up our accounts. So we did that and we are very happy with our decision to move to that credit union.

Yesterday I had to go to Chase bank which is the bank that we have been with for about 4 years now to make a deposit because I haven't switched over our direct deposits yet and so our bills still come out of the chase account. As I was driving through the teller informed me that if I were to sign up for a new account that they would give me a hundred dollars. So yesterday I spent about 30 minutes at a bank that I was changing from just to get a hundred dollars. Was it worth it..... YES!

And The Snow Keeps On Coming!

Wow I can't believe I have slacked for over a month and have not posted anything new. Well I mean I guess I have been just a little bit busy with starting my new job, babysitting in the afternoons, trying to get ready for company this week, and trying to get ready for Christmas. I have so much baking left to do its just crazy!

First of all my job has been going awesome! I am working part time at a grocery store bakery. I know I know for all of you who have ever heard me slander a grocery store bakery this one is good because they have me. Plus I don't make those ugly cakes, Someone else does. So... The pay is exactly what I want it to be (great for Utah) and I love the hours. I work Tuesday through Saturday from 5 am -11 am. Since Robert mostly works evening this works out so I really don't need a babysitter. Which brings me to the babysitting in the afternoon part.

One of my new very best friends Laura who lives up the street from me has started working evenings and so we now trade babysitting. I love her two kids Lucas and Zoe they are wonderful. So I watch them a few days a week for about an hour in the afternoons till there dad comes to get them. Trust me its so much fun having the kids to play with each other.

As for the company coming this week part. Well my mother in-law Patty flys in this Thursday and we are so excited to get to see her. Not to mention that it is wonderful having an extra babysitter and cook around. We really do love her! I don't think she does much in the baking department but that's okay I think I have this part covered.

I now have 18 loaves of frozen banana bread, 1 sheet of lemon bars and 1 sheet of pecan bars in my freezer just waiting to be packed up and shipped off to there final Christmas destinations. I only have 22 loaves of Cinnamon chip bread, 1 sheet of pecan bars and 1 sheet of lemon bars left to bake on my list. But that does not include dipping all 6 pounds of pretzels in white chocolate.

So I guess we have been just a little bit busy lately and this time of year just gets that way sometimes I guess. But I can at least say my Christmas tree has been up since the day after Thanksgiving. So I do feel like I have gotten a Few things accomplished.

Halloween

Lets just say Halloween was an insane time for us. Not only did we manage to attend 3 Halloween parties I also managed to help throw a baby shower and I even went to a Job interview. I got the job by the way. I have been itching to find a job for the past few months and I think I found one that might fit me perfectly. It is working for Weinegers grocery store. I know I know what some of you are thinking or remembering. Going to the store with me and me making fun of how awful the cakes looked. I won't be decorating cakes just baking =) Thank Goodness! I just thought I would let everyone know what we have been up to lately and here are a few pictures of MaKenna as Minnie Mouse. Thank you uncle Jon!

I just felt like sharing a few cute stories about MaKenna and what she has been getting into lately.....

So if I want MaKenna to take a very long nap and I mean like a 4 hour nap. Then when I lay her down I just go in and put her with Robert in our bed. Before you get the wrong idea of my husband. LOL, Robert does not just sleep all day he works nights and so he usually sleeps most of the morning. So anyway back to the story. Yesterday I put MaKenna in our room with Robert so she would sleep long and that way I could go upstairs and get the dishes done and a few other things.

About 2 hours into her nap I came back down stairs and I was sitting in the living room watching TV and I could hear this faint "Hi" coming from in our bedroom. I walked into our room to see MaKenna sitting up in bed patting Robert on the arm saying "HI Dada" trying to wake him up. She has started to become such a little lady I just love her so much!

We have also started encouraging her to use her silverware when she eats her food. So... at lunch the other day she had Macaroni and Cheese for lunch and she hasn't quite mastered the scooping up the food part yet. So she was taking the food in one handing and placing it on her spoon so she could feed herself with the spoon. I tell ya this girl is a smart one and who knows what she will be getting into next!

1st Brithday Party!

MaKenna turned 1 on the 5th and we celebrated with friends and family on the 6th by having a little party at our house. The weather was a perfect 85 degrees and there was plenty of shade in the back yard. Here are some of our favorite pictures.

I have been working on starting up a company here in Salt Lake doing wedding cakes with a close friend. While Robert and MaKenna....... well they have been gettting to spend alot of quality time together.

Well she loves the beach what can we say? She just couldn't get enough. I didn't think that she would like it that much and so I didn't even change her into her swimming suit, but once we got out here she was kicking me to get down and couldn't wait to get in the water. I think she would of crawled away into the ocean and when it was all said and done she didn't want to leave it behind.

I just have to say sorry to our friends and family that take the time to come to our blog just to find nothing new posted. I know it has taken me such a long time to get around to getting on and putting up something new. So here it is something new.

A lot has been going on in the past month, my mother in-law has been in town this whole last month, MaKenna has been sick, and my brother Jacob has moved in with us. So it has been just a little bit busy.

MaKenna and I got home from a week long trip to Phoenix and then the next week Patty got here. It has been wild and crazy since then.... With toy buying, shopping, food eating, some late nights and some very very early mornings. We have been having a blast since she has been here and MaKenna things that every day is like Christmas. I think she might have with drawls when it comes time for Grandma to leave. She will probably wake up every morning and be like what do I get that's new today??? We might have problems fulfilling that request for her.

MaKenna had gotten a strange little flu like bug and it made her pretty sick for about a week but she is doing better now and back to her 100% happiness that she was before. Which is good because uncle Jake loves to tickle her and she loves to be tickled by him. He is such a wonderful uncle. We are excited to have him living with us for a while it will be fun...

Just one last thing to note for all of my AZ friends. I will be coming back to the great state of high heat for about a week and a half. My family is having a family reunion in Cali and so the cheapest flight I could find was for me to fly to AZ and then drive to Cali with my sister sooo... I will be coming on the 25th which is in like 4 days and staying until the 4th of July. So I would love to hear from you and get to see everyone again.....

Just hanging out

MaKenna's Stitches

So last Thursday we had a little miss hap. Yes at 8 months old MaKenna is one of the first cousins to have to get stitches. I was putting laundry in the washer and She was standing next to one of our surround sound speakers and pulled it down on her. It only scared her a little bit and she got a tiny cut on her cheek. She didn't cry until I ran back into the living room to see what had happened.

I called the doctor and because it was on her face they didn't want to see her so they told me to go to Primary Children's. So we got our first experience in the ER. We were there for over 5 hours and we came out of it with 2 stitches and a crayola band aid

Here she is in the ER they just put some numbing stuff on it and some gauze and tape.

They gave her a little bit of medicine to make her a little woozy so they could put the stitches in. The doctors were worried because she was playing so much and just not really wanting to hold still. So they thought they might have to give her something stronger but she did great.

2 stitches and 25 minutes later she was up and playing and back to her self. Well maybe acting a little silly still from the meds.
Here she is at home just snoozing away it was such a long day for her and she was pooped. Of course she didn't want me to leave her alone so I held her a little bit while she slept.

Cell Phone and Highchair

I just have this thought to share with everyone. How many lives do you think a cell phone has? I know that mine has at least 2 now. Several weeks ago I lay my daughter down on my bed for a few minutes while I changed my clothes and she threw up all over my sheets. So... I jumped into super fast mode and gathered up my sheets and put them in the washing machine. Well other than my sheets my cell phone happened to of made it into the washer. The best part was that even after 2 rinse cycles and 2 spin cycles I aired it out for a few days it came right back on like nothing had happened. LUCK!

The other day after returning home from the Lundgrens home it was pretty late but I knew I had to get some laundry started or else I would be way behind. So I sorted out the whites and colors and I threw a batch of colors in the washing machine. Well I also happened to of thrown my jeans I had worn that night in the batch along with my cell phone that was in the pocket. Sure enough after a few days now I plugged it back in and it works like nothing had even happened to it in the first place. Does anyone else feel like some days they are loosing it? It was one of those days for sure.

We broke down and finally bought MaKenna a highchair. The Bumbo worked great for a very long time but now she knows how to get herself out of it a little too easily. Honestly is it really necessary for highchairs to have a 5 point harness system on them??? They are a highchair for crying out loud! Well here we are at Wal-Mart buying her a pink highchair. Robert even picked it out. That coming from a man who wouldn't let me buy her a pick car seat. Then again the highchair didn't cost us 300 dollars like the car seat did.

She knew that it was for her even before we got it home.

This is the first time she sat in it not too sure what she thought doesn't look too happy to me.

Once I threw in a few more banana puffs she was right at home and happy as ever.

Snow in May?

So on Monday it got up to 78 degrees here which was the most perfect day so far this year. Tuesday it was in the 60's. Wednesday it was in the upper 50's. But Today...... Its in the 30's and Snowing I just love how the weather changes so rapidly here and is just so unpredictable.....

Anyway enough about the snow and my dislike for it..... Yesterday was a pretty busy day and we had a girls night last night. We went and picked up Kim and Gina around 5:30 or at least that's what time we were suppose to be there it was closer to 6:15. MaKenna had a too tired melt down before we left the house so that delayed us a bit. So anyway we went and got them and drove down to Murry to go to See's Candy get a few things for our girls night and Some Scotchmellows. We then went to the cemetery to leave the scotchmellows for our dad (they were his favorite).

After that we were so torn about where to go and eat we couldn't decide between Cheesecake Factory, Olive Garden, or Mimi's Cafe there were just too many choices. So then I recommended that we go to this Brazilian Restaurant that I had been to a few times (Jared and Lisa's Favorite restaurant). So we end up going to Rodizios Grill where they bring out the large skewers of meat and slice it off for you at your table. The salad bar is awesome there. Kim and Gina had never eaten at a place like that before and they were in heaven. By the time we left all of us had regretted eating so much food. None of us felt that great anymore.

Then we went back to there hotel where our girls night would commence. They were staying at the Raddison down town Salt Lake and lets just say Kim's tub was the size of my whole bathroom. It was so nice. We watched Enchanted and I must say I really like that movie a lot I think its so cute. MaKenna was so good the whole night even at 11:45 when she was still awake. She was just so happy and playing the whole night. I must say I am soooo blessed for having such a good baby! We turned the lights down around midnight and MaKenna settled into the play pin I had brought for her to sleep in. She did wind up in bed with Kim and I around 1:45 but that's alright it was a nice big king size bed and she doesn't really move around when she sleeps. We had such a great night..

Well today is the last day of Kims conference and she will be flying home tonight. We had so much fun while she was here and made so many memories I will never forget. I guess I really forget how much I miss my sisters until I get to see them again. They are all just so wonderful and always there for me whenever I need them to be no matter what. They just support and help all the time they are incredible people.

Kim, THANK YOU for taking the time to hang out with MaKenna and I we had such a blast. Tell Gina I said thank you for hanging out with us she felt like part of the family. (Poor her) LOL. I can't wait to see you again in a few weeks. Keep up the good work your looking great.

Great Food, Friends And Family!

My sister Kim is in town for a "work conference". We have been having such a blast while she has been here and its only been 2 nights. So yesterday she got into town and we knew we were headed for shopping !!! So MaKenna and I were off at 2 yesterday afternoon to start our adventure.

We met up with Kim and her friend Gina from work and we picked them up and headed up to Park City. I love Park City so much. We headed up there to go shopping at the outlets. I am all about bargain shopping. This is the second time in 2 months that I have been up there to shop can we say trouble. I really didn't spend that much but I got over $200.00 dollars worth of clothes and shoes for Me and MaKenna. I love to buy her clothes. So after spending 4 hours shopping we decided we were hungry.

So we got all packed up (good thing we had the mini van or else we wouldn't of fit with all of our stuff). When Kim comes into town we always go up to this amazing steak house to eat dinner. So we Drive all the way to down town Park City only to find out that everything is closed. I guess I don't really ever go to Park City in the off season and they really aren't open. So the only place that was open was a pizza place and we didn't feel like pizza so needless to say we left. We figured that we could head back down to Salt Lake and find something close to there Hotel.

On our way out of town I remembered that there was this Brewery called Red Rock that Robert and I had eaten at before and it was pretty good. So we decided to stop. We were all so grateful that I remembered that place the food was incredible. I had the scallops and they were Amazing! And not that the place was a bar or anything I mean they don't just serve alcohol but I still felt like that women from Sweet Home Alabama you know the one I'm talking about the one with the Baby in the Bar. LOL It was funny. We had an awesome time. Didn't get home until 11:30 and MaKenna was awesome the whole time.

Tonight we went and met up with some great friends for dinner at there house in Ceder Hills. The Lundgrens are the most amazing people ! Its kinda a long story but he was our dentist for years and all 4 of us girls have worked for him when he was practising in Scottsdale. He has since retired and moved back to Utah to be closer to family. We always love meeting up with them we have the best memories. Well Kim worked for him for over 10 years and knows them the best but they are so amazing and welcoming to anyone who comes to there home. We had a wonderful dinner with them tonight and I brought dessert.... I took 2 cheesecakes and some very decadent mint brownies that have a rich chocolate frosting on top of them. We had an awesome time with them and are always sad to leave.

Still Sick

MaKenna has high spirits despite being so sick. Even with her nose running down her face she still knows now to make everyone else around her happy.

She loves to play even when she isn't feeling well.

All she wants to do is be near mommy and here she is trying to get very close.

New Dislike for Target

MaKenna has been sick for the past 2 days now. She has a runny/ stuffy nose and diaper rash. She has had a low grade fever and a little cough. Well she is also teething..... So do I freak out and think she has a cold or do I just pass it off as teething? Well i thought I would take some precautions and treat it like a cold but not really worry about it because really I know there is not a lot I can do for her. Soo....

all of this is really leading up to why I'm so mad at Target.

So the first thing I do is wipe everything down with Clorox wipes and disinfect everything all of her toys and wash all of her bedding. I also wanted to use a humidifier.. Well the one I got for my baby shower was not the one that I decided I wanted. I had registered for on from target and that's the one I got but then I used my sisters little Vick's vaporizer and I fell in love with it. So I decide to take the one I had received as a gift off of my registry from Target back to Target. I was not given a receipt but I didn't think it would be a big deal since it had been purchased off my registry. I mean I have taken stuff back without a receipt there before.

So I leave my sick daughter with my tired husband to head off to Target to go purchase a few things to help her feel better. I get to target and they have a help wanted sign up in the window and I think to myself, hey maybe I could work part time here.... I go inside and go up to Guest Services to return my little humidifier. I am the only one there and even with two people behind the counter they just ignore me and I wait for a few minutes while they talk before I just go and sit down the humidifier on the counter and say "can you help me?". By now I already have a little bit of an attitude because they made me wait. So the girl takes it and I tell her I'm sorry that I don't have the receipt but it was purchased off of my registry. She looks at me and then says well i'm sorry because we can't take it back. LOL, Apparently there has been lots of fraud with returning items off of the gift registry at Target. I just said Fraud? Are you kidding me? Its a freaking humidifier and its off my baby registry...... The girl then told me I could either get the receipt from the person or she recomended I sell it on E-bay.

As I walked out of the store I suddenly remembered why I sometimes shop at Wal-Mart which is located right across the street from Target. Its not because they have significantly lower prices on diapers, formula, baby clothes Or because my brother works there oh no. Its because they always take anything you purchase from them back.

Anyway that has put a new distaste for Target in my mouth and I doubt I will be shopping there anytime soon. I did end up going over to Wal-Mart to finish my shopping.

Look what MaKenna learned to do!

This is a picture of when I first went into the room to check on her. See how happy she is. I thought it was just a little bit too quiet in her room. Sure enough there she is standing on the side of her crib about ready to fall out. Wow who thought at 7 months old our child would be able to pull her skinny little self up to stand at the side of her crib. We of course jumped right into action doing what parents have to do best child proofing and we moved the mattress down.

Ahh... Yes the look with attitude. Who could tell she is a Quan? LOL She sure does give us looks that could kill just to make her point.
And last but not least........... I had to put this one in because her mouth is open and even though you can hardly see them she has two chompers in that little mouth of hers and she is not afraid to use them. She should of come with a warning label something like watch all fingers and feet. This Child is prone to attack anything that moves.

Bad at Blogging!

Okay now you must understand that I am horrible at blogging. So whats the point in having a blog some might say? Well So I can put pictures of my cute baby out there for my friends and family to see. So then people like oh ( Matt no last name needed) Can leave comments on my pictures saying that we don't say enough and we only put out pictures and then say its his wife. So I am saying now!

Robert and I are doing great we are currently still living in Bountiful Utah and we hate it! LOL okay we don't hate it Maybe I just strongly dislike living here. Robert works for Papa Johns Pizza and he is a manager down in the Draper store. He loves it and so do our friends (free pizza). Last May Robert applied to work for CDC (California Department of Corrections). Needless to say we are still waiting to hear back from them. They are on a hiring freeze right now and his application is good for 2 years so...... we have another year of waiting. So right now we are just trying to be patient. Or I should say I am just trying to be Patient Robert is the most patient person I have met.

I am Currently a stay at home mom and going crazy doing it. I mean I love staying at home being with my baby 24/7 but there comes a time for everyone when they need just a little break. So I think I am ready to venture back into the work force doing something part time. I Probably can't find anything in my Culinary arts field that is just part time and that pays decent. So here in this state my degree and my talents will waste away while I go do some secretary job because it pays way more than my field. I mean because if I am going to go back to work I want to atleast make some good spending money because we travel alot......

So far in the last 7 months since MaKenna has been born she has been to Arizona 2 times and California 3 times. Twice to Sacramento to see grandma and grandpa and once to go to Disneyland. MaKenna and I will be traveling back to Arizona on the 14th of May to go and see my sisters whom I miss like crazy and I want to see there cute little babies that aren't so little anymore. So we have that planned and I guess you will just have to stay tuned to see what other exciting travel plans we have for this summer. Just give me a little time and who knows I might just suprise you and get better at this blogging stuff.

She is feeding herself, crawling, sitting up on her own and standing up with assistance( the couch and baskets) She is just getting bigger and bigger every day. She loves using her sippy cup and even though I don't give her juice that offten she LOVES it! She drinks and drinks untill she can't breathe anymore and then she goes back for more.

MaKenna and I took a sudden road trip to Phoenix. I had a few weeks off of work and decided to come and spend some time with my family. We are staying with the Corks and the Laws having the time of our lives. The only thing that could make it better would be having Robert here with us. We are so excited that he comes in on Thursday .

First Christmas! MaKenna had a wonderful first christmas with her Grandma and Grandpa both here to spoil her. She loves her Grandma!

MaKenna got lots of toys and some Jammas, dresses, outfits and some new binkis. It was a great Christmas.

It snowed so much no one made it to our house for Christmas eve or Christmas day. Quiet to say the least..... Robert got a Tivo from me and I recieved a new comforter set for our bed from him. My sister Kim who always spoills us got me the cutest bag and MaKenna tons of clothes. We can't forget the see's Candy. It just wouldnt be Christmas without the See's.

New Years was a blast!!! MaKenna and I stayed the night and Grandma Saxeys house. We stayed there with about 20 other people it was so much fun! All night playing games, eating junk food and just haning out with good friends.

Lost and Found

Well as many of you might have read in a previous post I lost the keys to my Neon.... Well those have been found! Yay for Robert looking in the side of the couch for the hundreth time and finding the keys. I was dreading having to pay a hundred dollars to get a spair key for that stupid car.

Well on the lost part. Our good friend Jared and his wife Lindsey were at our house on Sunday and after a few trips down our favorite sledding hill lets just say that they couldn't find the keys to there truck. So if anyone happens to find some keys in the snow i'm sure they are Lindseys.

With As much fun as we had sledding I dont think MaKenna was all that impressed with the cold weather.

Yet again another huge snow storm has hit us here in Bountiful nothing like driving to work in 5 inches of snow. Plus we are in Utah and almost everyone here is a bad driver. I think its like a pre-requisite in order to be from here....." You can't say your from Utah unless your a horrible driver."

Well its come to my attention in the past week that I love baking. Cakes, cookies, brownies, lemon bars, ginger bread men, rolls, breads, butter creams..... You name it I have baked it and I love it. I guess its true what they say never trust a skinny Chef because its a sign that they don't eat there own food. No worries about that here then. I definitely eat my own food. Is food a hobbie? Because I definitely think cooking and baking are two of my favorite past times.

I consider myself one of the lucky ones.... How many people get to say that they do what they love? I am so happy to be back at the bakery it feels like second nature to me. I do things without missing a beat. Not having done it for the past 10 months has made me realize how much I appreciate it. We will see what baked goods Christmas time has to bring......

Yesterday was MaKennas baby blessing yay we made it through the weekend. WE had quite the eventful weekend. After loosing my car keys, battling with the 7 inches of snow, Tiffany going back to work nights again and we had over 30 people in our home for a lunch in Sunday I can safely say that we made it.

Where to begin....... The car keys : On Friday night I went shopping and Shopping and Shopping more to buy food for the 30 people for Sunday Well in the midst of bring in groceries and unloading the baby and the car I lost my car keys. Well this wouldn't have been a problem since we have two sets if the other set wasn't in the mini van which our friends took to California. So Neither Joanne or I have been able to go anywhere this weekend. FUN!

7 inches of snow: Yes Friday night around 10 pm it started to snow and it snowed and snowed and snowed all night and it didn't stop until about 4 pm the next day. Robert had to work and so that meant I got to go out and shovel the driveway and the sidewalks. Even more FUN!!!

The Baby Blessing: Robert was amazing! He did such an awesome job. He was calm and gave MaKenna the most beautiful blessing, it was awesome. We had such a great turn out and most of it was friends. Robert, Mike Saxey, Jerry Lundgren, Armond D'Agostini, Adam D'Agostini, Rich Curran, Tyrel Schiele, Jed, and Don Olson all stood in and it was incredible to say the least. After everyone came over to our house for the lunch in it took us a few minutes to get everything going but once we did it was a cake walk.

And Speaking of Cake: Last night was my first night back at Granite Bakery! I never thought I would be going back to work there but I guess the sky has fallen or something like that...... Robert had a rough night with MaKenna. Its only temporary even though they would like me to stay forever.

Disney Land

Nothing like Disney Land for the first time! Not just MaKenna's but Roberts first time too. Robert even got the first timers button to prove it. After MaKenna and I spent a week in Phoneix with my sisters we met up with daddy and spent 2 days at Disney Land and 1 day at the beach. This is a picture of us and our little Minnie Mouse in front of the Magic Kingdom. Crazy some might say for us taking our 2 month old to Disney Land but she slept the entire time we were there. We all just took turns holding the baby and we all got to go on the rides it was awesome. I can't wait to go back.

So Tiffany pulled me away from the Xbox to create this blog thingy! Now I am going back to playing xbox. Just kidding. So if you are not familiar with our family, we consist of myself Robert, my beautiful wife Tiffany, and our oddly beautiful baby girl Makenna. I say oddly because none of my ugliness shows in her. Well I will tell you a little about us, My wife and I are both 25 and Makenna was born on September 5th of this year. My wife and I were married on September 2nd of 2005 in Ione, California. I enjoy sports, the game halo and spending time with my daughter. I was born in Sacramento, California and Tiffany was born in Phoenix, Arizona. We now live in Bountiful, Utah and Makenna was born in Salt Lake City. Chow for now. RC
